MCS Opens Upper West Side School

Manhattan Country School (MCS) held the ribbon cutting ceremony for its new school on 150 West 85th Street in New York City. U3A served as project manager for this K-8 independent school for four years, working with MCS to plan and execute a strategy to double enrollment, sell its historic mansion on the Upper East Side, and acquire a new facility on the Upper West Side to support the school’s growth.  Read the latest about MCS’ move to the Upper West Side here.

U3A helped MCS to analyze the financial implications of various real estate options.  U3A also assisted MCS in selecting a real estate broker and a planning architect, and worked closely with MCS and the broker to evaluate a variety of relocation sites. We concluded our engagement by managing a competitive selection process for a design architect and owner’s representative on behalf of MCS.
