Terry Hogan

Terry is a real estate and urban planning professional with a background in real estate market analytics, financial analysis, and urban policy who knows how to take complex projects from planning to implementation.  

As a Senior Associate at U3 Advisors, Terry thrives at developing and synthesizing insights that uncover innovative opportunities to maximize both end-user needs and community benefit. His experience with real estate market analysis and financial modeling ensures that projects are aspirational but attainable. 

Terry began his professional career as an intern at U3. During that time, his work included an evaluation and redesign of a university’s employer-assisted housing program in an urban neighborhood in the Midwest; a market study and financial model to support the expansion of an events hub and cultural space in South Carolina; and analysis to support negotiations for a ground lease between a university and a national developer for a large mixed-use project in the mid-Atlantic.

He rejoins our team after spending time at the global design firm Gensler, where he provided market analytics and real estate advisory services to support planning and urban design, mixed-use development, residential, retail, education, adaptive reuse, and workplace strategy projects around the world. He also worked at the municipal advisory firm SB Friedman, where he supported projects related to special district designation, transit-oriented development planning, and development advisory services, among others.  

Terry has a Bachelor of Sociology degree with a minor in Statistics from the University of Chicago, and a Master of City Planning degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He resides in Chicago and is an avid biker, snowboarder, traveler, and cook who is inspired by exploring the built environment by foot and on two wheels. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
