Amy Fater

Senior Advisor , Boston Office

Amy brings institutional, government and private sector experience to U3. She is trained as an urban planner. She regularly manages projects across geographies and scales and collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams.

Amy came to U3 via our merger with Landwise Advisors, an advisory firm that helped owners and institutions to maximize the quality, utility, and value of their land assets through expertise in planning and land use economics.

Prior to Landwise she spent a decade working as a campus planner at Harvard University. In her role as Associate Director for Planning, she supported the University’s physical growth and development, primarily focused on strategic planning for the Allston campus. She managed institutional master plan submissions and was an integral part of early planning efforts for the Enterprise Research Campus, a new mixed-use innovation district being undertaken with development partners.

Amy previously worked for EYP Architecture & Engineering, an integrated design firm where she completed master plans for higher education and government clients across the country. She began her career in the public sector as a planner for the City of Salem, MA; this followed graduate school internships with the Town of Amherst, MA and her hometown of Newport, RI.

Amy received her Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Hampshire. Amy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and recognized as a LEED Accredited Professional by the United State Green Building Council.
