Liz Guthrie

Learning & Events Manager for Reimagining the Civic Commons

Liz is committed to creating positive environmental and social change through strategic collaborations that catalyze healthy, resilient, and vibrant urban places.

Liz Guthrie brings over 20 years of experience designing and managing sustainability and urban resilience initiatives across the public, private, and philanthropic sectors. Liz recently served as Associate Director of Resilience Practice for the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities, where she led training and capacity-building efforts for a global network of Chief Resilience Officers and city teams. Previously, she managed the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Professional Practice Programs, overseeing member and partner involvement in the development of a national rating system to guide sustainable land design. Liz’s professional background also includes experience as consultant and designer at multidisciplinary firms before pivoting to training and education at the National Building Museum, where she oversaw the institution’s outreach programs.

Liz received her master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and her bachelor’s degree in the Growth and Structure of Cities program from Haverford College.
