$100 million foundation grant to spur creation of biomanufacturing facility in Hazelwood Green

U3 Advisors is thrilled at the announcement of the historic $100 million gift from the Richard King Mellon Foundation to the University of Pittsburgh. This transformational gift will advance the region’s burgeoning life sciences economy by creating an anchor bioresearch and development facility on Hazelwood Green. The University of Pittsburgh BioForge, a biomanufacturing facility that will bring forward new innovations in cell and gene therapy, will serve as a growth engine for this forward-looking redevelopment in Hazelwood, attracting new companies and residents. We look forward to working with the foundations’  partners at the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC, and Carnegie Mellon University to make Hazelwood Green a dynamic, prosperous and vital mixed-use environment that spurs the economic vitality of the City of Pittsburgh, and the region.
