Tom Lussenhop is Senior Vice President at U3Advisors. With a background in real estate development, project management, and asset management, Tom contributes to the transactional and development capacity of the firm. He has spearheaded U3’s work with Drexel University, University of the Sciences, Princeton University, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Lehigh University, and the University of Maryland, and has been instrumental in myriad other projects.
Prior to joining U3A in 2013, Tom was the founder of Lussenhop & Partners, an advisory firm that served non-profit institutions facing complex real estate and community development challenges. From 1996 to 2002, he served as Managing Director of Real Estate for the University of Pennsylvania during their highly acclaimed “West Philadelphia Initiative” neighborhood development period. He has also had major roles in performing art center development in NJ (NJ Performing Arts Center), Miami (Arsht Center) and NYC (Carnegie Hall).
Since 2004, Tom has also developed, for his own account and in partnership with others, in the University City neighborhood of West Philadelphia, completing over $60 million in residential, hotel, and land developments. Currently, he is the President of U3Ventures, a real estate development company he co-owns with Omar Blaik, CEO of U3 Advisors. U3Ventures has over $15 million of development projects underway.
Tom received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Public Affairs and Urban Planning from Princeton University in 1987, and has spoken widely on urban redevelopment, housing, and development financing.
