Retained in 2008, U3A worked with Demographic Perspectives and Austin Architects to assist Yale in a strategic review of graduate housing, including Yale’s need to replace existing facilities and satisfy new housing demand.  U3A prepared an analysis of privatized development approaches used by Yale’s peer institutions and worked with the University to assess the current “all-in” cost per unit of graduate housing.  Using the University’s cost as a baseline, U3A created a financial comparison of fee development and off‐balance sheet development of graduate housing via a developer partnership.
